Nicole Echevarria- Reflection 2

For our second-class presentation, we had to present for an hour and improved since the first one.  Our topic was about “Election Matter”, and each group focused on a different issue including school policies, gender equality, immigration, and the electorate and the election process. I learned more about how each topic affects today's elections from these presentations.                Our group was the first to present for this project which a bit exciting and nerve racking at the same time. Our topic was about Education policies which is the plans candidates make about improving schools and learning opportunities. Education is an important election issue since these policies have the power to greatly impact voters who care about it. We worked hard as a team and put in a lot of effort to gather good research. I think we showed a lot of growth and improvement since the first proj...

Reflection 2       Hello guys, in this blog I will be talking about the second sets of presentations. This presentation was a little different because we presented outside Infront of a group of people. This was extremely nerve-wracking because it wasn’t just my class that I was presenting Infront of, but another class. It was also hot outside, and it made everything feel a little worse. At first, we didn’t have mics, so the first 2 groups had to basically yell to get theirinformation out. I also noticed that the crowd didn’t really seem interested in being there. They were on their phones, and I can tell they were bored. I’m assuming that their teacher forced then go to be there. This made it a little bit easier because I knew they weren’t paying attention. It gave me comfort knowing that I could mess up and nobody would really notice. via GIPHY      The first group went up and since they didn’t have mics, they had to yell. I was able to understand some ...

D ear Class,                This second public speaking assignment turned out significantly better in every way. Even though the first one amazed us with well-crafted presentations  and the way they were presented, this one is undoubtedly the best we've done as a class. “Elections Matter” was the topic for this presentation, each group spoke of controversial themes surrounding the national vote, among which we can mention education policies, gender equality, immigration, and the election process. This time, instead of starting with the first group, we began with group 4. I’m very happy to say my group did an awesome job! We worked closely together, helping each other whenever someone faced difficulties in gathering information. something I really appreciated about our presentation was how we included examples that directly corelate to our experiences as students. pact our education costs and career op...

Our class project was about doing research and creating an hour long presentation on everything that elections impact. For example the topics to each presentation were either about school policies, gender equality, immigration, or about the electorate and election process.       This time, instead of starting with the first group, we began with the last group—my group. I’m proud to say my group did an amazing job! We worked closely together, helping each other whenever someone faced challenges in gathering information. One thing I really appreciated about our presentation was how we included examples that directly relate to our experiences as students. My section, for instance, was about comparing college tuition in the U.S. with other countries. I highlighted how, in America, the cost of higher education can be outrageously high—especially in fields like orthodontics. I shared that if I were to go to a university like Nova, I might end up in debt...

Dear Sherri, I really enjoyed more this time and appreciated, how every presentation covered the essential concepts of Elections Matter which it is Education Policies. My group did and presented different point of views about education policies and how does it impact here in the U.S.. My part of the project was to try to get interviews from important people from the schools boarder, ask them several questions about their opinion and what do they think about some education policies. I was trying to reach the Dean of Students from MDC; Dr. Nelson Magaña, and also a kindergarten school teacher from where I work and the Assistant Principal. Unfortunately I did not get the interviews, but other than that, I also did some research about of how education policies impacts schools. U.S. education policies focus on promoting equality and preparing students for the future. Key federal policies include the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and Hig...

Dear Class,  In our recent class presentation on "Election Matters," each group explored essential issues connected to elections, including Gender Equality, Education Policies, Immigration Policies, and the Electorate and the Election Process. Through these presentations, I gained a deeper understanding of the complexities of each topic and how they affect the elections now. To start off, I will be speaking about my group. My group spoke on Education Policies. We were the first group to start off, we each divided the work strategically, using the subtopics our professor had provided. These included focused research on our subject and the contributions education policies have made.We included a historical overview about certain acts that influenced the education policies, we also provided interviews with people directly involved in the education field, such as teachers. Our presentation slides were neat and visually engaging; rather than overloading them with text, we used ke...

Dear Class,               This second public speaking assignment turned out significantly better in every way. Even though the first one surprised us with well-crafted performances, this one is undoubtedly leading the ranking. “Elections Matter” was the topic for this presentation, each group tackled controversial themes surrounding the national vote, among which we can mention education policies, gender equality, immigration, and the election process.     Diving into such important issues helped us get more involved with our own words, ensuring the right message reached the audience. This greater engagement in our work —from collecting data from various credible sources to interviewing important figures in each field—yielded awesome results. In this second reflection, my goal is to cover each group, analyzing their performance and highlighting positive aspects and in need of improvement...
