Xavier Perez reflection 2

 Dear Class,

This second public speaking assignment turned out significantly better in every way. Even though the first one amazed us with well-crafted presentations and the way they were presented, this one is undoubtedly the best we've done as a class. “Elections Matter” was the topic for this presentation, each group spoke of controversial themes surrounding the national vote, among which we can mention education policies, gender equality, immigration, and the election process.

This time, instead of starting with the first group, we began with group 4. I’m very happy to say my group did an awesome job! We worked closely together, helping each other whenever someone faced difficulties in gathering information. something I really appreciated about our presentation was how we included examples that directly corelate to our experiences as students. pact our education costs and career opportunities. This project really taught us how elections, whether at the national level or within school boards, can shape policies that impact us, from tuition fees to available programs and resources. I’m incredibly happy with our progress and the insights we shared on how election outcomes can shape educational opportunities, both today and in our future.

After our groups presentation, Group 3 gave a great talk on The Electoral Process. The first speaker explained the process very clearly and concisely, like the two main political parties, their beliefs, and how the voting process works. This made it easy for the audience to follow along and grasp the more thorough information that came next. All the speakers in Group 3 did an excellent job of communicating, making their points clear and keeping the presentation flowing smoothly.

Then, Group 2 presented on Gender Equality, and their presentation was impressive. Each speaker focused on a different part of the topic, which added depth. The first two speakers talked about abortion in a balanced way, covering both pro-life and pro-choice views without being controversial and being effective. They also used real-life data and videos to help explain the topic. The other two members focused on women in sports, tracing their journey from early barriers to modern-day achievements. Overall, Group 2 did a fantastic job with their research and presentation.

Although innovative, Group 1's presentation on immigration laws was unclear. The use of statistics was not adequately explained, and the tones of the slides produced visual inconsistencies. Although the panel discussed the immigration policies of the Democratic and Republican parties, it may have looked into the circumstances that shaped those perspectives. The lecture emphasized the importance of having a powerful delivery and a clear structure.
