Rachel Acosta - Reflection 2
Dear Class,
In our recent class presentation on "Election Matters," each group explored essential issues connected to elections, including Gender Equality, Education Policies, Immigration Policies, and the Electorate and the Election Process. Through these presentations, I gained a deeper understanding of the complexities of each topic and how they affect the elections now.
To start off, I will be speaking about my group. My group spoke on Education Policies. We were the first group to start off, we each divided the work strategically, using the subtopics our professor had provided. These included focused research on our subject and the contributions education policies have made.We included a historical overview about certain acts that influenced the education policies, we also provided interviews with people directly involved in the education field, such as teachers. Our presentation slides were neat and visually engaging; rather than overloading them with text, we used keywords, vibrant colors, and attention grabbing visuals. This overall made the presentation way easier to understand to our audience. We also created a brochure, this brochure captured the core points of our speeches in an eye-catching design. Although we were the first group to presentation, it was nerve wrecking. However, since we all presented together previously, I believed we did an amazing job this time.
Group #1 closed out the presentations with a remarkable discussion on Immigration. Like Group 2, they started with a historical overview and included a well-designed graph that provided just the right amount of context to set the stage. This foundation allowed the audience to follow the subsequent points easily, making the flow of the information seamless and coherent. What stood out to me most was how they managed to capture the breadth of this complex topic without overwhelming the audience. They carefully selected key information that was impactful and engaging. One unique feature of their presentation was the use of close-person interviews; one member interviewed their own family member which happens to be an immigrant, asking thoughtful, insightful questions. This firsthand perspective brought a personal dimension to their work, giving us a vivid glimpse into the real-life challenges immigrants encounter daily.
In conclusion, each group delivered a unique and impactful presentation, showcasing diverse approaches to critical topics related to our election. Together, these presentations not only deepened our understanding of these important issues but also sparked meaningful discussions and reflections on the complex factors that shape our society. Overall, the dedication and creativity of each group truly elevated the learning experience.
Very nice blog reflection!
